CAFOD – Diocese of Leeds
Bronagh Daly from the Diocese of Leeds Office has sent out two videos expressing their thanks to all the volunteers who help with their great work. Our own Peter Hill (RIP) is also mentioned. Well done to all who help and support CAFOD in any way – your work is vital to the work of CAFOD and is making a difference all around the world.
Thank you to Ian Mallet for sharing these videos with us.

Offertory envelopes and standing orders for offerings
For more information and to download a standing order form please click here.
We now have the facility to take offerings using text messaging. To use this service and to contribute £5 to the Parish Offertory, please text CHURCH BIRSTALL to 70500
Please note that it is a feature of the text-giving facility that allows for no more and no less than £5 to be given to the Offertory via each text. If your regular weekly parish giving is either more or less than this amount, please feel free either to send more than one text – or maybe use this facility just once a month. Thank you for supporting the work of the Church: your generosity is much needed and particularly appreciated at this time
The Diocese of Leeds will receive 96% of your £5 donation. The money will come from your mobile network account. You only pay a donation if you receive a reply message back, some mobile phone accounts have text donations blocked on them because they are business phones or they are pre-pay phones with insufficient credit. You may (depending on network) have to pay to send a “standard rate” message which should cost about 10p. Always get the bill payers permission. If you have questions about this service call 03306600425 to speak to someone from the service provider Vir2.Text Giving
You can also make a donation to the parish offertory by card

The Year of the Word
in the Catholic Church in England and Wales 2020
“The God who Speaks”
The year 2020 sees the 10th anniversary of Verbum Domini, the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Benedict XVI on The Word of the Lord. The year 2020 is also the 1,600th anniversary of St Jerome’s death. These are strong reasons for us to embark at this time on a creative and deeper engagement with the Holy Scriptures across the life of each diocese.
